Greetings from Canada!
So we made it.....just! I have to confess there were a few hiccups in getting here, and it didn't go quite as smoothly as it should have, but we are now 2 days in, and very much having fun on holiday here in Canada. I am enjoying eating my way through donuts, pancakes and any other sweet delights I can find. Of course we are doing alot more than that, however the weather is slightly against us, being that its currently pouring down out there. But being British we are surely used to it, and hell....who cares, were on holiday!
Today we braved the rains and took a trip into Halifax for a little shopping and a yummy Chinese buffet lunch. Yes that is me in my giant kagool, trying not to look too windswept and watered. I love those quaint little white churches....
Also managed to find a great art and craft shop, where I picked up some beautiful scrapbooking papers, to use for my cards.
I really wish you could get papers like these in the UK. I think I did well only buying 10 sheets.......there were hundreds to choose from.
Also picked up these cute, vintage buttons in a lovely little wool shop. Vintage and unusual buttons are high on my 'to find' list at the moment.
Tomorrow we are off to see what promises to be a spectacular firework display, for the Natal Day celebrations in Halifax. Heres hoping the weather improves!.......

What I Have Been Making.....
Theres not been much time recently for making. Its all been about getting ready for holiday - which is now only 2 days away! When I say getting ready, I basically mean spending yet more money on necessities and doing piles of washing.......
Still I have managed to find a few spare hours to make these cute fabric corsages. I plan to make up a batch of them, and once im back from Canada, they'll find a place in my Etsy and Folksy shops, so keep your eyes peeled.

Folksy finds......Daisy, Daisy
Its been a cold, blustery, rainy few days, and feels more like the middle of winter than the middle of July. I seem to be suffering from a severe lack of enthusiasm to do anything except hibernate under a blanket on the sofa all day, and a lot of people I speak to seem to be saying the same.
The creative stuff will just have to wait a few days, while I set about finding that inspiration. In the meantime, in the hope of brightening things up a little for me and you, check out these bright, sunny little daisy finds on Folksy.....

Storm in a Teacup......on Etsy
Ok......so not quite a storm, but id definitely like to sip a strong brew out of one of these fashionable, dainty, ditzy teacups, that are very of the moment. There is a fab collection in an antique shop in Arundel, where yesterday, I had to fight to keep my hands in my pockets.......its sad, but I really don't have the room for any more knick knacks........boo!
In an attempt to make myself feel better I have compiled an adorable Etsy collection for you to peruse on this sunny sunday afternoon. Bottoms up!

Beaded Flowers
Really pleased this week to have sold one of my original beaded flower greetings cards. I designed a range of these several years ago, but sort of left the idea there and moved on to other things. Im now feeling inclined to create a new set of cards like this one, and although they are quite time consuming, I think they are very pretty and cute. Will keep you posted.....

Cherry Man
For several months last summer, a man waited patiently on a busy road, in the sunshine, selling cherries.
I saw him everyday on the way home from work, always intent on stopping to purchase his wares, but never quite getting around to it. And so I admired those beautiful bright red fruits from afar, until one day he, and they, were gone. It was a sad day.
But hoorah! He is back, and look what I have here...............
.......and let me tell you, they are as big and juicy and yummy as they look!!........mmmmmm.......

Wedding Wonderland
Had a fabulous weekend up in London for my cousin Lindsey's wedding. It was beautiful and she looked stunning.
They had the reception at the National Theatre, on the deck, overlooking the Thames.
Then a champagne boat trip down the river, seeing the sights and feeling very sophisticated.......... something im most definitely not!
And then they opened the roof!
Then into the Globe Theatre for a magical reception, some scrummy food....... particularly the rasberry pavlova...... and lots of dancing.
I wish Lindsey and Andy all the happiness in the world and hope they have a lovely time in Bali......x
