Knitting, Tags and Not Giving Up

The last couple of days have been spent trying to teach myself to knit...........unfortunately not too successfully. It seems knitting has got a lot harder since I was younger!! Or maybe my hands think they have too much to do already! Still I am not giving up, and will practice more this week. They say 'practice makes perfect' after all. In between all the non-knitting I have made some more layered butterfly gift tags, which I love pairing up and finishing with beautiful coloured ribbon. These will be available in my Etsy and Folksy shops soon...........Happy Tuesday x

Busy Bees........On Etsy

Its been an absolutely stunning week of blue skies and warm sunshine. Admittedly i've had to view most of it through the office window, however I have managed to grab a few lunch breaks in the sun. It makes you feel so much better and has made me think about getting that summer wardrobe up to scratch! I love being outside in this weather and feel like Spring may finally be here.....the abundance of giant bumble bees around seems to back this up too, which is why I have picked Bees as my '....on Etsy' finds this week. Hope you enjoy....x

The Next Thing.....

.....Ok, so its not like I don't have a million and one things on the go already, but still I couldn't resist buying this gorgeous 'Baltic' colour wool and some knitting needles. I confess i've not knitted since I was about 10, but for some reason today seemed like as good a day as any to begin my re introduction to it. I have the tools, now I just need to find the time! Not necessarily so easy! But i've heard its very relaxing so im really up for giving it a go. Any tips gratefully received.....x

Return of the Dragonfly

When I last visited Canada, six years ago, I treated myself to this beautiful dragonfly necklace by designer Mary Levesque. Two years ago it broke and I was heartbroken! About two months ago, after much internet searching, I tracked down the designer, and lovely as she was she agreed to fix it for me. So off it went to Canada to be mended. Today, much to my surprise, Mr Dragonfly was waiting for me on the doormat, all fixed and shiny and turquoise blue. Today is a good day, and tomorrow i'll be sporting my favourite necklace again....x

Yesterday

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful sunny and even warm day and we spent a few hours down in Chichester. I love it there, and can't resist a quick visit to the Eternal Maker whenever I find myself that way. It is a true haven to anyone who loves sewing, card making and crafts, and I would definitely recommend it. For those that don't live nearby check out their website at www.eternalmaker.com/

I never make it out of there without treating myself to something and yesterday I was having a vision of green and bought these lovely fabric quarts......

....I love this table filled with buttons and beads and bits and pieces.....

.....and this is George the bear. He comes in kit form from Australian company Hatched & Patched, unfortunaltely he is out of stock at the moment, but I think he has made my list of 'Things I'd Like to Make'....

Happy Weekending x

Things in London

Just returned from a few days up in London for hubbys 30th birthday. We had a brilliant time and have come home exhausted and windswept! We went to see Wicked, ate lots of yummy food at Bodeans smokehouse, drank whiskey sours, celebrity spotted at Borough Market, dicovered Divine dark chocolate with raspberries, (I..) had to control myself in the habedashery dept. of Liberty, eyed up £700 bottles of champers, ate giant cinnamon danishes and fell in love with the stunning views from the hotel room window.

Not a bad way to spend a couple of days!
