Bringing in the New Year......on Etsy

So we find ourselves at the end of another year again, and about to embrace the start of new one. Are you making any new years resolutions?

Im not, however I do endeavor to spend most of January spending less money and eating less food (I say this as im consuming biscuits and chocolates right this minute, but anyway....) and also making more use of my new sewing machine, which has only been operational for 3 days (I have made 2 cards and some bunting in that time....which is really good for me!).

Anyhoos..... thought id do a little new year collection for you, a few bits ive spied on Etsy to help get you in the spirit for this evening or simply some fresh new things to bring in the new year and start afresh with.....

Introducing Elvie......

........the Christmas Fairy.

Yes, this is the newest addition to the Christmas Tree, who we have named Elvie, and who is sitting very proudly at the top of the tree.

Spotted her, and fell in love with her, at one of the Brighton Christmas Open Houses - Cherry Picked for You. She is designed and made by Halinka of Halinkas Fairies.

You can take a look at more of her beautiful things by clicking on the link above.

I visited some of the Brighton Christmas Open Houses this weekend, full of lots of festive treats and gifts ideas, and filled with the scent of mince pies and mulled wine. Of course I was tempted to buy (and did buy) a few bits, but it also inspired a little search on Etsy, to see what snowy Christmas delights I could find.....take a look....

My First Christmas Fair

Ok, so i've been a little blog absent for the past few weeks, but I have had a good reason for this.

On friday, one of the local schools held a Christmas Craft Fair, which I took part in. And so I have spent most of my evenings and weekends making, stitching and sticking in preparation for it. It went fairly well, and I got a lot of positive feedback. As its the first thing like this i've ever done, it was a also a good learning experience, and im definitely going to do more.

I was really pleased with how my stall looked, and it was the first time I had seen all of my work all together like that.

I will be listing everything thats left on my Etsy and Folksy shops over the next couple weeks.
