Countryside Greens
Just got back from a little countryside wander at Bignor Park near Pulborough. Having sampled some yummy cake and taken a stroll through the many stalls at their Floral Fringe Fair, we took a few snaps of the beautiful surrounding gardens.
I love just how lush and green everything is at the moment....
And a bit of much needed sunshine and fresh air to blow away those cobwebs.

Making Flowers
Im always up for learning new techniques and ideas. I suppose that comes from having a little creative streak.
I'll quite often experiment with little ideas that have come to me at some ungodly hour of the night, but recently i've been checking out some interesting tutorials i've stumbled across online. I think its really important to expand your skills (not that I need any more projects!).
This week i've tried out two.......this lovely one for a beautiful flower bracelet made out of leftover fabric scraps.
Click on the pic above to see the tutorial
The other one, and definitely the more successful for me, is this one for button brooches. Again click on the pic below to go to the tutorial.
This one requires you to do a little fabric burning (or singeing) of the edges. Not something i've ever done, or thought of, before. But it seals the edges and gives a really nice effect.
These are my creations.....
I think they've turned out well.

New Fabric Designs by Dan Bennett
Im very excited to have discovered that Dan Bennett, a fabulous painter I have talked about before, has created a series of designs for Rowan Fabrics.
I fell in love with one of his paintings I saw a couple of years ago at the Brighton Art Fair. Unfortunately it was a little out of my price range, but retailing at £2.90 per quarter metre, I think im off to treat myself to some of these beautiful designs.......i've just got to decide which is my favourite!
Check out Cotton Patch to see all these lovelies and more.....

Easter Nests
My version of the Easter Chocolate Nests from the Taste website.
I have used the traditional 'cornflakes' in mine, but added in a little desiccated coconut for a tropical twist.....yum!
