Early Good Friday

We decided to get up and out early this morning for a walk along Lancing beach.........it was beautiful and still and the tide was right out. People were walking their dogs and someone was horseriding through the shallow water.........we must do this more often!

Hope your all having a fab start to the Bank Holiday! x

Brooches, Biscuits and a New Bag

What a gorgeous weekend it was. Saturday was spent doing a little bit of shopping in town (some pre holiday stuff…..and yes I know its still 3 months away, but still). I then took the afternoon to play with those fabric butterflies I made a few weeks back. After much deliberation I decided to make them into brooches. I brought some felt to attach to the back to make them a bit more rigid and glued on a pin.

I think they look quite nice, especially when lined up like this.

On Sunday we ventured out to our first car boot of the year. Unusually I was very good, and nothing tempted me enough to spend my pennies. Instead, on the way home, I spent them in the local farm shop on some yummy lemony goodies.

I haven’t had lemon curd since I was much younger. I remember my mum making lemon curd jam tarts. Mmmmmm………..I wonder if she’d be happy to make me some now?

This weekend also saw the arrival of my new purchase from Etsy store Creating Things. This gorgeous handmade bag is beautifully made and in stunning fabric and I love, love, love it! Thank you Nancy!

Please check out her shop at www.etsy.com/shop/fromnancy . She has a great selection of handmade bags in a variety of beautiful fabrics, and its well worth a look.

Right, now I have to get back to it. I decided to take an impromptu day off as its so sunny, and have been out enjoying the sun this morning. However I need to get on with photographing and packaging the brooches ready to put in my Etsy and Folksy shops………..Happy Sun Day! x

Animal Magic

When I have the time, I love to be able to have good route around online. I like searching out other artists and makers, and theres nothing more pleasing than stumbling across someone whos work you just fall in love with.  I managed to grab 5 minutes the other day and discovered these beauties by The Fox in the Attic which you can find at www.thefoxintheattic.com

They stock a fab range of hand sewn and embroidered animals in beautiful fabrics, from cats to bunnies to owls.

I absolutely love this Heart Bunny......

Sunshine Weekend

Its been a glorious weekend of warm sunshine. I love being able to get outside and enjoy the weather. Yesterday we took full advantage of a beautiful country pub's beer garden and today have just got back from a delicious sunday lunch out. The leisurely stroll home topped off with a yummy mint chocolate ice cream........possibly THE best flavour! Our neighbours cat Pinot said a friendly hello too.....

I also managed to find some time to try out a few new card designs. Having a couple of weddings coming up this year I am playing with a range of wedding cards. I have started with a wedding cake design and gone all 'Ace of Cakes' playing with different ways of decorating them, these are my favourite. I have also moved on from butterflies and thought i'd try a few dragonfly cards, they are layered, like the butterflies, but these have wound, spiral wire tails............I would love to know what you think?

.....in Pictures

Its been a weekend of Mothers day BBQs, saturday night movies, and the obligatory household chores. All mixed in with some homemade Tiramisu (some of the Ameretti biscuits actually made it in), new cookbooks (this ones actually for my mum), new buttons (nothing changes there then!) and finally getting around to packing away all my weaving yarn (I seem to be on some kind of spring cleaning mission at the moment?). All in all a lovely and productive weekend. Hope you've all had the same....xx.
